(Please check your private messge box — I just sent you a response.) You can take 2, 3 or 4 of your acidophilus tablets a day depending on how much you can afford and how convenient it is for you to take them. I was told to take probiotics (acidophilus is a probiotic) about 20 minutes before eating though. Vitamin D can be toxic if you take too much of it though, so you want to be careful not to overdose on it. If you’re taking a multi-vitamin, be sure to check that the combination of the Vit. D in the multi and the separate Vit. D is not going over the recommended daily amount. I don’t think it’s a good idea to take more than what is recommended on the bottle label though. I took Dr. Fuhrman’s Vit. D3 Osteo Sun Formula (the non-vegan one) for some months but I’ve since switched to using Catie’s Whole Food Calcium Plus tablets. (See http://www.energyessentialsofglendale.com/id1.html ). Her supplements are food based and are in a whole foods base. I’ve also been taking her organic greens powder which contain some probiotics. Also just getting some sunshine on your skin every day helps raise your Vit. D levels. I mean, don’t burn yourself or overdo it, but just even 10-15 a day in the afternoons (or if you’re lighter skinned, then 3-4 times a week is sufficient) will help.

I’ve also started taking Garden of Life’s raw organic Vitamin Code products ( http://www.thevitamincode.com/ ) : the Perfect Weight and I’m going to try their Vit. B Complex also. I’m also going to switch to their Women over 50 multi vit./min. formula after I finish the Perf. Weight ones. I find that whole food sourced supplements agree with me better (don’t make me nauseous or bother my stomach) and I think they’re more easily assimilated by the body and safer. I just like the idea of organic, raw and food sourced vitamins better. Unfortunately, they tend to be more expensive though. I have been feeling better since taking these supplements. As to my skin, honestly I think I’ve pretty much outgrown acne at this point, finally (I’m 56 years old), so I’m not a good test for what clears acne anymore. It’s hard to know for sure if I’ve actually outgrown acne or not though because I’m continuing to do things that I think help keep the skin clear: anti-inflammatory diet, good supplements, good skin care products, the Gloria Martel Skinlift Light, etc.
