Azulene Oil vs. Tea Tree Oil, and other useful info.

Im not sure if this has been posted before, but this stuff called Azulene oil works great… almost as well as tea tree oil, only it has absolutely no smell at all, so you can wear it all day. It also is easier on the skin… it actually moisturizes, while tea tree oil can slightly contribute to redness and peeling. The price is also close to the same for both as well.

Azulene oil is meant for using after you shave to prevent shaving bumps and ingrown hairs, but it works just as well for acne since it works by venting your skin pores. Ive been using this stuff for about 4 months now, with Clindamycine at night.

Sorry I havent posted for so long, as you can see I have been clear for quite a while now…

My regimen has been mostly just avoiding dairy, wheat, and sugar, and trying to have lots of water (usually 2L a day), although I sometimes forget. At night I also use “Clean and Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser” and “Clean and Clear Blackhead Clearing Pore Scrub”, and a bit of “Glaxal Base” moisturiser in the morning. I used to have near-cystic acne for almost 3 years, and I have been clear for a year now. This has been almost the only thing that has worked well for me, and it continues to do so as long as I stay strict to my diet. Also, I go drinking 2 or 3 times a weekend, I work out alot, have sex at least once a weekend, and I rarely break out.

Heres a tip for if you want to go drinking, and want a minimum breakout… drink tons and tons of water at least 2-3 hours before you go to bed. You will end up peeing almost all the alcohol out of your system before morning, and it also prevents hangovers… and im sure it isnt nearly as hard on your body either.

Azulene oil has only one disadvantage over tea tree oil… it doesnt vent quite as well, so it doesnt have quite as much effectiveness, but it still works great, is cheap to buy, and is easy on the skin.

If you have any other alternatives to tea tree oil with no, or a less strong of a smell, please post them up (does emu oil smell nearly as bad??).

I think that is major for me too but what do you eat then if you weight lift?

    do u have oily skin?

  2. Doesn’t azulene have a bluish tint to it? I used to use Earth Science’s Azulene Shaving Cream to shave my legs. I loved it, but it would leave blue stains on my shower curtain, so I stopped using it. I never heard of Azulene being used for acne before. I read the following at this website link, http://www.essentialoils.co.za/essential_oils/camomile.htm :

Camomile contains Azulene, a powerful anti-inflammatory agent. This blue crystal is not actually present in the plant, but forms in the oil and only a small quantity is needed.

I would think that anything that helps reduce inflammation would help with acne. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Sorry for the late reply, my computer has been screwed.

Clindamycin is an topical antibiotic solution, you get it from the doctor, and make sure you ask to get it mixed with nutraderm lotion.

I pretty much eat whatever I want as long as it has no wheat, dairy, and very low in sugar, and of course deep fried stuff like chicken, french fries etc. I dont really keep track of my food since I have a really high metabolism anyway. But during the summer I pretty much live off protein burgers and avoid high carb stuff like potatoes when i want to get my abs lookin good.

Ive noticed that high carb foods, no matter what kind of carbs definately do affect my acne though. I tried having eating hardly anything but potatoes and wheat-free bread for over a week just to do a test, and it made my skin flare up after being clear for months.

My skin is almost perfectly balanced too… not oily, and not dry. But I do use a bit of scotch or packing tape at night to prevent flakiness. Sometimes my nose gets a bit slick during the day, but I just gotta lightly wash it off with water and im good to go… but dont do this too often or it will eventuallly just get worse and worse.

Yup it is blue… gotta watch you dont let it drip on your clothes or it will stain pretty easily. But it is undetectable to wear it during the day as long as you dont use it on oily spots, and it helps alot to vent your pores, so it is definately good stuff.
