Im not sure if this has been posted before, but this stuff called Azulene oil works great… almost as well as tea tree oil, only it has absolutely no smell at all, so you can wear it all day. It also is easier on the skin… it actually moisturizes, while tea tree oil can slightly contribute to redness and peeling. The price is also close to the same for both as well.
Azulene oil is meant for using after you shave to prevent shaving bumps and ingrown hairs, but it works just as well for acne since it works by venting your skin pores. Ive been using this stuff for about 4 months now, with Clindamycine at night.
Sorry I havent posted for so long, as you can see I have been clear for quite a while now…
My regimen has been mostly just avoiding dairy, wheat, and sugar, and trying to have lots of water (usually 2L a day), although I sometimes forget. At night I also use “Clean and Clear Continuous Control Acne Cleanser” and “Clean and Clear Blackhead Clearing Pore Scrub”, and a bit of “Glaxal Base” moisturiser in the morning. I used to have near-cystic acne for almost 3 years, and I have been clear for a year now. This has been almost the only thing that has worked well for me, and it continues to do so as long as I stay strict to my diet. Also, I go drinking 2 or 3 times a weekend, I work out alot, have sex at least once a weekend, and I rarely break out.
Heres a tip for if you want to go drinking, and want a minimum breakout… drink tons and tons of water at least 2-3 hours before you go to bed. You will end up peeing almost all the alcohol out of your system before morning, and it also prevents hangovers… and im sure it isnt nearly as hard on your body either.
Azulene oil has only one disadvantage over tea tree oil… it doesnt vent quite as well, so it doesnt have quite as much effectiveness, but it still works great, is cheap to buy, and is easy on the skin.
If you have any other alternatives to tea tree oil with no, or a less strong of a smell, please post them up (does emu oil smell nearly as bad??).
