Bovine stem cells used in skin care treatments

A friend of mine who is an aesthetician told me about a line of products and treatments she’s looking into, which you can read about at http://www.DNAskin.com . The regular skin care products are organic and natural. The treatments use stem cells extracted from a cow’s amniotic fluid. They claim the extraction process doesn’t injure the cow, but the thought bothers me. It seems to me like it would be painful and distressing for the cow to go through this extraction process, although I don’t really know how they do that. The thought of having cow stem cells on my face doesn’t really set well with me either. The regular skin care products look to be free of animal products.

    I agree. :shock

I think in the future this may be where some topicals go but I doubt the technology is advanced enough and the costs are small enough so that the average person could pay for products/treatments right now.
