Ovace Foam

Yesterday I went to my derm, I hadn’t been to see in her three months, and she basically extended my presciption for my anitbiotic (which I faithfully tell her I take all the time :lol :lol :lol ) and some more Retin A Micro, which I put on occasionally but it has never worked completely for me. She also though gave me 2 samples and a prescription for Ovace Foam, a face wash. I think it might be new because I haven’t heard much about it. I just have a sample size, but it says it has sodium sulfacetamide 10% in it. That is sulfur based so it would kill the p. acne bacteria. Anyone else heard about this or tried it?

  1. I used a lotion called Klaron for a while, which contains sodium sulfacetamide. I was using Differin and taking antibiotics in conjunction with it though. I do think the Klaron helped, but it still is a type of antibiotic and it does have the same problem with developing resistant bacteria such that it can lose its effectiveness after awhile. I used several different antibiotic lotions, and they worked for a while and then stopped working.

  2. Shucks. I didn’t know it was an antibiotic! That must be why its working-the one thing I try and avoid ends up helping me! Topcially I’m doing 3 things right now:

    1) wash my face with foam then rinse it off

    2) out of the blue I got some lavender oil and started to rub that in after I wash my face with the foam.

    3) put the foam on places that give me trouble-middle of forehead, nose, and a couple ( 😀 😀 😀 ) current spots. But my skin is still as oily as ever. 😡

I’m also trying to help the insides (have you read the Chinese Bitter thread yet) and I think I might do something along the lines of what Denise does.
