oily face / dry scalp

Does anyone else have this problem? I have extremely oily skin, except on my scalp – under my hair, which is so extremely dry that if I dont use dandruff shampoo every single day, it becomes unbearably flaky. My hair is also extremely oily, which is even more bizarre considering that the skin under it is just the opposite.

  1. wow, I would consider that very bizarre as well!! What shampoo do you use? I use Nizoral here and its very good 😀

  2. I use Selsen Blue for sensitive skin. It does the job and makes my hair soft, but if I dont wash every day its both drndruffy and grimy at the same time.

  3. Try Nizoral lucky 13, its really good, and its antifungal. My derm even recomends for people that suffer hairs fall out.

  4. I don’t know if you have any Sally Beauty supply stores near you? But they carry all kinds of hair masks, for hair and scalp. I too tend to have a dry scalp in the winter months. I use a hair mask atleast once a week, if not more! Sally has some good ones, but I’m sure you could find some at a drugstore etc. I jsut got a few samples of a conditoner for scalp and hair by Aubrey. I’ts called glycogen protein balancer, and I love it! I’m having them order it for me at the health food store! Pricey tho! A cheap thing to try, is mix a little vinegar in a cup w/some water, and pour that on in the shower, after your hair is wet, and massage that in your scalp, and then wash your hair as you normally would. Guaranteed to stop itching! My sister told me about this one! It also removes product build-up! I can kinda smell the vinegar tho, for a day or to! Which I don’t like! But it does work, like I said!

  5. You could try not blow drying your hair…that works very well for me. I get seborrhea a lot in the winter, and not blow drying is a biiiig help…also not dying your hair helps too, if you do that sort of thing.
