  1. baking soda as an exfoliant (either in facial wash or just water) irritates my skin, and makes it dry. It’s too harsh for my skin. When my Fuller’s earth clay comes, I’m planning on trying that with corn meal.

  2. i have been using the baking soda and water mixture on my nose for awhile now and i love it. it gets rid of my blackhead really fast. but when i put it on my forehead i didnt notice a difference really. i think anywhere you have blackheads you should put it there. esspesially if you have oily skin.

  3. Paula Begoun says she’s used the baking soda mixed with Cetaphil herself and says it works. It does work for some people. I have tried baking soda and found it harsh to my skin :cry . Just as the same as milk of magnesia its harsh for me too. I would do better with a 100% bentonite mask to exfoliate. Works nice!

  4. I’ve been using baking soda and cetaphyll to exfoliate for years. I never expected it to help my acne but exfoliation is great for general health of the skin and this is one of the best for me but be VERY gently don’t rub too hard with it.

  5. I can’t get the water and Baking soda to mix. It impossible to create a paste. Hmm? What to do? Just put it on and let it dry? 🙂

  6. I put the baking soda in first, then slowly add water to it until it gets to a consistancy (sp) that you can spread pretty easily. It won’t really be a PASTE, but you should be able to spread it on easily with your fingers. Just stir it a whole lot.
    Hope that helps! 😛
